What do you hope to get out of the group?

I hope to further my own skills with programming as well as to learn more about robotics in Philly.

Would you be interested in giving an informal presentation or demo or leading a topic discussion?

Sure, though my only area of knowledge is Lego Robotics with elementary kids. I am only 2 steps ahead of them, sometimes I am learning with them!

What skills do you bring to the group?

I have been teaching Science and Technology for over 5 years with grades K-7 and I have a passion for inquiry. I am completely self taught when it comes to robotics and technology in general, but I have 4 years of experience working in a computer lab.

What types of robot projects (or discussions) are you working on or interested in?

My students are just learning the basics--programming sensors and getting to know the various aspects of the Mindstorms software. I would like to get more experience using palettes other than the Common Palette and in creating strings so that the robot can multi-task.

I am a Technology Teacher at a K-7 Charter School in North Philadelphia. I started an all girls robotics club (GEMS Club) using Lego Mindstorms this year with some 5th & 6th graders and am hoping to connect with other robotics instructors/builder.
