Join us on a short hike through a portion of the Pennypack trail and Pennypack ecological restoration trust in Montgomery County. We will meet at 10:00 AM. The parking lot is located at 1750 Byberry rd. in Huntingdon Valley.(close to Masons Mill Park) The trail is approximately 5 miles long mostly flat packed gravel.
The trail follows an old railroad path along the Pennypack creek. we will venture off- trail into the Pennypack restoration ecological trust, which features a moderate uphill climb to an overlook and back down to a wetland area which has a diverse natural area. Over the ankle hiking boots are recommended.
We will break at 2.5 miles at the Bryn Athyn train station. There is a BBQ lunch truck,(may or may not be open), seating area and nice area to wander. We will then complete the remaining 2.5 miles to the Parking lot. There are modest restrooms available at the trailhead and midway point. All total approximately 2 hrs
