We'll start the evening with a Flash Talk by member Janet Williams, who will review Elementor, the popular page builder plugin.
Following Janet's talk, for our main presentation, Bridget C. Reed will speak to us about design and how to do it better, whether you are a designer or not. Here's her description of her presentation:
Through my post-design-school years, while working both with developers and as a developer myself, I’ve always gotten the same question: “So why does that look better than this?” By the end of this talk, you should be able to discuss the C.R.A.P. (contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity) design principles, be able to justify last-minute design decisions, and see the worlds of design, user-experience, and accessibility differently in order to become stronger in your role.
Bio: Bridget Reed is a Philadelphia-based UX engineer, product designer, and speaker, as well as an active member of the Philly tech community.
