Join us for our July WordPress Meetup on Wednesday, July 25th at 7pm. The meetup will take place at the: Colket Translational Research Building (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia research campus).

Meetup Topic: WordPress Security

Presenter: Brad Williams (@williamsba)

If you're running your own installation of WordPress on the Internet (anywhere, at any host), then you need to know what sorts of threats are out there and how best to secure your sites. Brad will run us through how to get started.

Tickets for this event cost $5. All money collected will be used for food, giveaways, and future Meetups.

For those driving:

Parking can be had at the Wood Center parking garage or the Penn Tower parking garage.

SEPTA riders can take Regional Rail to the University City station and take a brief walk over to the Colket Building. Additionally, the 34th & Market MFL station is only a few blocks away as well.

More information is available on the Research institute's website.

Enjoyed this informative preso. It was deep enough to be substantive but not too techy as to get lost in the super coder weeds. Brad did a nice job of covering the various ways someone may try to hack your WP site and how to thwart attacks.

Another outstanding presentation at Philly WordPress. Concise, informative and professional although this is to be expected considering Brad's impressive credentials to speak on the subject. Thanks Brad for sharing!

Great meetup. As always Brad is dialed in and is willing to share his knowledge on WordPress and he also knows where all the most obscure meeting rooms are.

Brad presented an assortment of tips to make WP websites more secure. Brad and Doug smoothly fielded Q & A on a variety of topics. Despite a mechanical issue with the projector, the presentation was smooth. Thanks for supplying the pizza and soda.

Another powerful Philly WP Meetup. The speaker was a premier world authority on the subject and delivered the message with an entertaining, educational manner and an enlivened discussion. Complimenting the speaker was a technical wizard co-facilitator who could not be baffled by the extraordinarily deep questions of a charged group of enthusiasts. Another WOW night at Philly WP Meetup.
