Hey, its the time of the year when we all like a little mystery, suspense and delicious sweets in our lives. This one will be gore free however. You can count on three things.
1. Since we are entering the peak of fall foliage, this hike will definitely have a vista involved.
2. Since Carl is leading it, this hike will definitely end with a visit to get something delicious.
3. The hike will take place within 2 hours of Philly, have around 1,000 feet +/- of elevation gain and last 2-3 hours.
But, you will not know where the hike is until you get there. Two days before the hike, we will send you directions to a meeting place. You can meet up for the carpool in Philly. Or you can meet us in the mountains. When we meet up in the mountains, Carl will provide directions to the trailhead and we will caravan over.
Sound like fun? I think so. Hey, you always leave the logistics and planning up to us, why not make it suspenseful.

We've capped this hike at 15 people. Why do we put a limit on the number of people for hikes? Three reasons; safety, conservation and fun. We limit the number to promote safety.
We also limit the number to promote Leave No Trace principles. Though many of the trails we take are very well established, we want to limit our impact on the environment. So, it is much better for us to go in with 15 people and not tromp 50 in all at once.
Finally, we limit the number of people because we believe bringing a giant heard of people into the woods ruins one of the fundamental reasons we go into the woods, the peace and intimacy of nature. Large groups are loud and intrusive both to animals and to other people seeking a serene, quiet experience. Thanks for understanding!
