Horses and Cinnamon Rolls - SOLD OUT

  • Dec 2, 2012 · 10:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

ATTN: All registered and paid participants should have received an email including the details for Sunday's event. If, for some reason, the email did not reach you, please contact me ASAP.

Let's go have a lovely Sunday morning with some horses! But let's make it even lovelier, and begin it outside with warm, delicious cinnamon rolls and coffee. Mmm.

Morning Deliciousness

I'll be visiting one of the best bakeries in Philadelphia before the event, and picking up some drool-worthy cinnamon buns fresh from the oven. That plus a few carry cases of hot coffee (regular and decaf) will come with me to the stables, where we'll meet around 10:00am to enjoy a gorgeous morning and some tasty treats.

Horsemanship Instruction
Then around 11am, we'll get going. We'll have experts in horsemanship and horse psychology give us an illuminating introduction to the physiology and psychology of the horse, the basics of horsemanship, grooming, tack, and riding. Then we'll get a hands-on lesson in proper leading and horse-human interaction. If you've never learned how to be totally comfortable and safe around these magnificent creatures, this is your chance.

Trail Ride
Once we're well-versed in our new horse expertise, it's onto the trails!

We'll break into 2 groups of riders, according to skill level. Then we'll saddle up for an hour and a half of fabulous, relaxing riding through the Brandywine river valley on these amazing horses! This is one of the prettiest trail rides you can do in this area, on some of the best animals around, with talented folks certified by the Horseman's Safety Association. Top notch!

Weight: They have Eagles players that ride there, so they'll have a horse for pretty much any weight! I just need to know if you're over 200lbs so we know how many of the bigger horses we'll need.

Price includes: One hour of instruction in horsemanship and horse psychology, one hour of trail riding, hot delicious cinnamon buns, hot delicious coffee, coffee fixings, all logistics and bookings and fetchings of noms, credit card fees, guide certified in CPR and First Aid, and water.

Payment: Log in and pay at the TerraMar site here: (If this is your first event, you'll have to register first!)

Please note: will tell you to pay the day of the event if you RSVP here; that's wrong. As usual, you'll need to register and pay at our site in order to secure your spot and join us.

As always, location details are sent to paid attendees a couple days ahead of time. If there are details you absolutely need before then, email Dawn!

Limited to 20. First 20 to pay, go! Sold Out.....

Hi everyone, I signed up early for this but have now come down with a terrible cold and won't be able to attend. Would anyone who wanted a spot but didn't get one be able to swap with me?

    December 1, 2012

  • Joycelyn

Please do this again soon. I am finally back to a regular schedule and I am looking to resuming my fun MeetUp activities. Love horses!!

You, of course, are very welcome to attend any of the Terramar events. For each event, we have return participants and new members.

    November 25, 2012

  • Rebecca

Is there any chance you could add one to the 20 attendees? I have done this before and love horses. I can pay immediately.

    November 24, 2012

  • Barb D

Just to let you know, I did pay to bring a guest - shouldn't I then have two spots on the list?

    November 21, 2012

    • Carl E.

I believe you registered someone named Joe as your second guest. If you would like we can list him as Barb 2.

Haha. That was a no to the over 200 lbs question. Looking forward to this. It's been way too long since I've been horseback riding.

Well shoot, let's have a mini-meetup up beforehand and get to know each other. I have a mid-size sedan and can take 4 passengers.

Hi, I have a 10 year old boy. Neither of us have ever been on a horse. Do you think this would be an appropriate activity for us?

Oh and if so, is this rain, snow or shine?

Hopefully, snow is not in the forecast for December 2, but the event will go forward rain or shine (barring some severe weather event). This event really is designed for adults-- with a trail ride and informational session included.
