Thanks to Gary for organizing this integrated meetup with the "Get Out Philadelphia Adventure Group"
We will meet at 11am at the Dunnfield Creek Natural Area parking lot
From there we’ll gear up for a 3.5 mile hike up Mt Tamminy which will get us to 1100 feet elevation over a 1.2 mile distance – that’s a nice climb. We’ll climb up on the Red Dot trail and then down on the Blue Dot trail – when we meet back with the White Blazed Appalachian Trail we’ll take the AT out to Sunfish Pond, have lunch, and then hike back to the parking lot.
Total hike should be about 10 miles.
This hike is NOT easy and you must have hiked before and be able to hike 10 miles with significant elevation changes. Please do not sign up if you cannot do this.

GPS this address:
Parking: N40 58.328 W75 07.555
Route 80 west to just before the last exit in New Jersey. On the right there is a sign for Dunnfield Creek Natural Area. There is a parking lot on the right, then a large main lot in the center and if that is full, you can park on the grass next to that. [directions from nps.gov here]. The road is one way so you can't backtrack to a passed lot unless you get back onto Rt 80 and come around.
Trailhead: From anywhere in NJ take I 80 West to the last exit. There will be a sign for Worthington SF and Kittatinny Point Visitor Center. Once off I80 hang left going toward Visitor center. Stop in Visitor Center for trail maps. Pass the visitor center and just before you get back onto I80 East make left and go under I80. Make left and then a Just before going back onto I80 West make right into Appalachian trail and Dunnfield Creek parking. Another and easier way is to take the 2nd to last exit for Rest area (I forget the exit #) and then just past rest area make the right into the Appalachian trail parking. (Lat:40.97163 Lon:-75.12211)
