Call to Action, PRO-ACT Recovery Walk

FINAL CALL FOR PPL PHOTOGRAPHERS

This is a FINAL CALL for volunteer photographers from the PPL to assist in covering an event that is directly in sync with the mission of our organization.

We are photographing the Philadelphia Recovery Walk. This is one of the largest events in the nation in support of Recovery Month which is September 2013. It is a national event and in Philadelphia they are expecting 20,000 + participants (last year they exceeded 18,000).

Our core mission at PPL is to support community organizations like PRO-ACT with our time and talent and to help them get their message out. Along with the work we did on Martin Luther King Day of Service this will be an important “signature” event for PPL.

We need photographers who will work in teams of 3 to cover this event. Please review the details.

MEETUP PLACE ; Northeast Corner of 2nd and market Streets – Philadelphia, PA (at the base of the Penns Landing Bridge, where the entrance to the EL is).

DATE / TIME : Sept 21st @ NO LATER than 7:30am

NOTES:
- PPL Leaders will be on the corner starting at 7:30am.
- The WALK starts at 9:00am sharp so please arrive no later than 7:30am.
- We will receive “access credentials” and T-Shirts so we need time to do that and get to our positions on the Recovery Walk Course.

    Hi Jano ..... Yes we are photographing the event and will submit our work to PRO-ACT. The files must be full res jpegs 300 dpi. The files will be loaded within 72 hours - I am sure we have some flexibility with this. PPL has a "portal" to load your submissions on our web site. More details will be forthcoming. If you can attend our monthly meeting on Sept 13th will have devout a section of the meeting to sharing all the details for Sept 21st day of shooting. We will also post those details for all PPL volunteers that can't make the meeting on the 13th.

    What is "photography support"? Are we submitting photos to Pro-Act? In what size and format? Is there a deadline for submitting them?

      Yes, the submissions will be made by the PPL after curation and selection by the members of the Leadership Group. Deadline for submissions will be 3 to 5 days after the event. You will be informed on how to make submissions electronically
