If art isn't your full time profession, than what is? What other activities and/or hobbies do you enjoy?

I work at Wholefoods as a source of steady income. Recently I have been averaging one commission a month. As far as hobbies... rock climbing, zumba, salsa, bachata, breweries, hanging out with new people and good friends. I'm very active.

We are curious as to each persons definition of "What is art". In a few words, give me your definition of what art is to you. Our definition of art is "a spirit of creativity that flows from mind to hand".

I agree with that definition although it may exclude strictly conceptual artists who may not necessarily use their hand. That aside, I believe art is an unexplained force to produce something visually intriguing. It's a very relative term and cannot easily be defined. The more I look at the vast amount of art in the world, subsequently my definition broadens.

How long have you been working as an artist? Would you be interested in helping plan events for this group?

I've been actively involved with art for over 10 years (I'm 22). I would love to get involved!

What do you hope to learn and share as a group member? What are your future goals? What is your current age?

I know networking is a big part of being a successful artist but my main reason for joining is to have artistic interactions. Each one inspires me more and more.

What kind of art do you do or make? Do you need help with beginnng or finishing a project?

Most of my work includes a human figure. I like classical poses with a mix of modern somewhere in there. My art is evolving as I age. One of my goals in my art is to take the viewers breath away. Not in the sense of "wow that's pretty" but more like the kind of somber intrigue. Finishing a piece is always difficult for me unless it's a commission. Sadly, I am much more motivated when someone is waiting for my work.

Introduction

I'm Angie and I paint mostly with oils. I also do wood sculpture when I can. Most of my commissions have gone towards tattoo designs but I have sold a couple paintings as well :)
