I wanted to send everyone an email and let you know about the change in RSVP policy for the events that I organize.  We have had a number of last minute cancellations and no-shows in the past few months.  At The Palm Restaurant on Wednesday, I had made a reservation for an extra 10 people at the request of someone in the group, and not one person showed up for that table. We had 12 people show up instead of 22. It is an embarrassment for me because I have to apologize profusely to management. It takes money out of the restaurant's pocket, as well as the wait staff.    From now on, I will require a $10 deposit for each event. That money will go towards the bill at the time of the event. Also, last minute cancellations will be considered no-shows. If you can’t attend an event, please cancel within 48 hours.  If you don’t show up, you will forfeit the $10.  With 2 no-shows, you will be removed from the group.   I hate to do this to people who are signing up and showing up to events, but this is becoming a big problem. Thanks for your cooperation.
