What we're about

Who: Anyone in the Boulder/Denver/Ft Collins/Colorado Springs metro who identifies along the trans spectrum plus partners, family members, friends, allies—anyone touched by trans issues

Who: Singers (all levels of experience), musicians, poets, storytellers, visual artists, multimedia, cultural workers of all kinds

Why: Community Building, Self-Exploration, Voice Exploration, Positive Activism, Community Education, Creative Expression, Fun!

In the past 2 years, we've had 27 performances: at community events such as the Trans Day of Remembrance, Take Back the Night Marches, and Lavender Graduation and in major collaborative concerts with Resonance Women's Chorus, the Denver Gay Men's Chorus, and Mosaic Gospel Choir. This season we are embarking on our first ever choir tour to Minnesota!

Weekly Rehearsal--Everyone welcome!

The Studio

• What we'll do We rehearse every Tues night at 7pm in Broomfield (3078 W 134th Place 80020). Everyone is welcome. Not exactly a traditional chorus, Phoenix is more of a safe space to take risks of self-exploration—whether around gender and identity, creativity and voice, or leadership and community building. Although many of its members are trans-identified, the choir is home for anyone who does not fit neatly into the gender binary, as well as all those touched by trans issues, including partners, parents, friends, and allies. We are a non-audition, intergenerational, collaborative group who believes in the transformative potential of the arts for personal empowerment and societal change. We've been around since Sept 2015 and perform frequently at community events, often material composed by choir members. Though based in Broomfield, we have singers from all over the Front Range and are excellent at carpooling. • What to bring Water, snacks, and music are provided • Important to know
