ReactiveMongo , presentaion by Terrence Drozodowski

Should be a great presentation, Terry was going to present last month but had a last minute emergency.

But he is ready to go for Sept.

I use the Ultimate - only because that's the only version that you can get the Play Framework plugin for. The community edition will work if you don't need that - but you need to install the Scala/SBT plugins.

Thank you for the links Terry, and for the great presentation.
Quick question, do you use the Community Edition version of IntelliJ or the Ultimate?

I've had some questions about my presentation, so I thought I'd answer some of them right here. ReactiveMongo is a Scala driver for Mongo DB. It has some things that make it stand out from the other available drivers, and I'll touch on that in the presentation. All the code examples are in Scala. I don't expect there to be many Scala experts at the meeting - so I will explain some of the basic concepts up front. If you know Java or most any other modern language with {}'s you should be able to follow along. ;) I will also have a WebSockets example using PlayFramework & a tailable cursor from Mongo to show streaming of data to the client. I also intend to use MongoHQ as my Mongo instance. I plan on putting sample code on Github and I'll share that once I have it all ready to go. I aim to make it interesting to those of you who are not familiar with the language. A chance to see some cool stuff in action!
