Phoenix Screenwriters Association Inc., (PSA) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, providing assistance and guidance to local screenwriters and filmmakers through educational and networking opportunities with the goal of supporting their careers into the film business through their development of industry-standard screenplays and films. We offer a range of services, including classroom instruction, seminars, workshops as well as networking opportunities with proven industry leaders. PSA provides its members a professional organization through which motivated writers, filmmakers and others in the film industry have a clearer ability to advance their careers.

Phoenix Screenwriters Association, Inc Presents: IN THE WORKS: Actors Reading Writers A reading of excerpts from local writers' scripts in progress… read by local actors honing their craft... Followed by feedback from the writers and networking for everyone. WHEN: Third Tuesday of every month. WHERE: Floridino's Pizza and Pasta Banquet Room 590 N. Alma School Rd. #35 Chandler, AZ 85224 (480)[masked] WHAT: We have partnered with Floridino's for this event to become a FUNDRAISER for PSA, and they will donate 20% of all sales back to us! A meal and drink for you is financial support for us! Where else can you enjoy drinks and a meal out with friends/family AND ENTERTAINMENT for the cost of a reasonable and yummy dinner? The event is free to you, so please help us keep it that way: Please order food & beverages from the venue and be sure to take care of your server! HOW: CALL FOR ACTORS! Want to read a part? By submitting script pages for the ITW-ARW events, the writer agrees to take every precaution to protect their own work (registration with WGA and/or copyright) and hold harmless PSA and ITW-ARW from any real or perceived injury that might arise out of a reading. Writers who present script pages at ITW-ARW acknowledge that they are the rightful owner(s) of the work and have all rights to the pages. No work presented can be a "writing team" work unless both writers are present at the time of the reading. Writers' Insights Workshop

Tempe Marketplace (Barnes and Noble)

Writers’ Insights is a monthly workshop designed to help you gain better understanding of your writing. A friendly environment and wonderful moderator where participants will bring 10 pages of their work (please bring enough copies for all attendees) to read aloud as a group. Constructive feedback is given as to how the readers experienced your story...what worked well, where clarity may be needed and possible solutions for a rewrite. We will cap the readings at 4 participants per meeting so everyone get equal time. Please reply in comments if you plan on bringing pages. Bonus: A monthly addition to your writer’s toolbox will be included...how to tackle challenges writers face such as the Note-within-a-note, Writer’s Block, Protecting Your Writing Time, Resources for Writers, etc. Grab a cup of coffee and your 10 pages and come join us for a relaxing time while gaining insight to your writing.
