What we're about

This is a group for people interested in being professional software engineers. It doesn't really matter what language, what methodology, or what kind of environment you work in (big enterprise, startup, open source, etc.). All that matters is that you're interested in getting together now and then (in real life or virtually) to talk about great code and what makes it great.

BTW, this is broader than just talking about the assertions from the Craftsmanship Manifesto (http://manifesto.softwarecraftsmanship.org/) -- it's about the principles behind it: professional software development.

Too many of us don't get to develop our craft on the job, so in the beginning let's focus on build a small community of people who do care.

Long term, the goal is to give members the tools (and inspire them) to write amazing code by learning from each other, study, mentorship, katas, hands on experience, and open discussion.

Hi All - I've sent out a couple emails and received zero responses... as it turns out, Meetup is "aware of a current defect in our platform" which is preventing listserv messages from going out. So let's try again ... I just took over as the organizer of this group. I already have the first presenter / kata lined up, but there's just one problem … I don't know much about you. Could you take a minute and click through this survey so I can target the events a bit better to what you're looking for? Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/65D833J Thanks! Dan
