I've had my Canon for 2 years and finally know what some of the features are for. I take pretty good photos but now I will have more control over what my photos look like. I'm glad I have background knowledge and could follow along with the lecture on aperture and shutter speeds. I didn't hear a sales pitch just recommendations. This was a good meetup.

I did not expect this to be a sales pitch.

I would say it was more like informing us of what is available for our cameras and offering different price points, not just the most expensive options possible. There was no pressure to buy anything.

Thanks for an informative class. I did forget to ask one question. Most new models have a sensor cleaning feature. How often should that be done?

As a rank beginner, I wanted to understand the difference between SLR and P&S--and I GOT it! Very interesting workshop. I got a great overview of SLR--and enough to know that I don't want to go to that level right now.
