We'll meet at the Verona Park & Ride at 6:15, leave there at 6:21. Here's a map of the Park & Ride: http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/parkride/lots/dan1302.htm

I just purchased 10 red Cyalume glow sticks from Amazon, We will need at least 5 more colors.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cyalume

Also available here:

We'll carpool to Governor Dodge State Park and get set up at Stephen's Falls just before sunset.

Bring along glow sticks, Led light sticks, maybe even some steel wool to burn.

Hopefully the stream will be flowing well enough to get some photos like this one:

We'll also go for something like this:

Water flow was too low for glow sticks, but we did some great led stick light painting and then had a great opportunity to shoot the Milky Way.

I will not make it tonight either. Too much going on this weekend. Have fun with the light painting!

Sorry but I will not make it tonight. Being Labor Day weekend this was going to be an outing to enjoy with my niece. She hurt her leg so we will stay closer to home tonight. I am though going to look into an idea around Lodi for a future nighttime light painting with water. I think I can find a place on the Lodi Creek we might be able to use. It won't have a waterfall but it will have rapids which might be just as good.

Keep me posted on Lodi location. Also if you are at all familiar with the Lowell area, Walter mentioned there might be an opportunity there as well.

I'll come and don't mind driving a few extra folks if needed. I'll see what photon emitters I can find to use with our photon collectors. :)

Great place for photography. Going to try to make this, as I would like to do some more night photography as well as make some new friends with the same common interest.

Governor Dodge park is a great place to view the stars. If it is clear would anyone be interested in trying to photograph the milky way? I don't know how to do it and would be interested in trying it.

I'd be up for trying some night photography. Cross our fingers for clear skies.

How does this group work? I am in school for photography and I love taking photos. Would like to see what other people do and learn from others.

As Ryan stated, a tripod, glow sticks, LED sticks, anything colorful for night photos. And of course any questions you may have. A fast, or wide angle lens helps as well. Look at the posts below, I've put in some links for tips on shooting the Milky Way.

Okay thank you. Never done night before. And I have a 18-55 lens and[masked] lens

I'd say a tripod & if you want, some glow sticks otherwise, just come along & participate & ask questions if you have any. Oh and bug spray & a jacket in case.

I'd be interested in the "MIlky Way" photography to try too, but not sure how that works, so will need some camera guidance for that as well as with the glow stick photography. Pretty new to me, but anxious to try it!

I picked up 3 glow type flash lite sticks at Wal Mart. I'm hoping these will work out. Blue/Red/Green

Bill someone mentioned to break open 4 bracelet type glow sticks and add the liquid to 1/4 cup bubble solution. The glowing bubbles are supposed to be super cool ! Something new we can try!

Ah, maybe four is the magic number! Heather tried this with just one, maybe two, and it got too diluted to work with the bubbles. I did this with a six inch glow stick and glitter: http://www.flickr.com...
