This is a small group that meets biweekly with the intention of improving our photography with more focused, in-depth feedback on our images. Whether we are building a portfolio, submitting images to an exhibit or publication, or just want to improve our photography, honest feedback is an excellent way to grow as a photographer.
The small group gives us a chance to spend a little more time on each image, and discuss what works, what doesn't, or how the image might be improved. This will also allow the participants to get to know each other better, as well as build trust in everyone's feedback. Everyone who is part of the group is expected to share images and give feedback.
Each week there will be an assignment (announced at the previous meeting) that is intended to get everyone out shooting new images. It is easy to search through our archives to "find something that will work" but in order to grow as photographers, we need to get out and shoot!
Something to think about while you are out shooting... "Why am I photographing this? What drew me to this scene / story?" We want to challenge you to try something outside your comfort zone.
Assignment themes may be interpreted however you wish (that's part of the fun) but the images should be new work, and must be black & white. Please bring 2-3 images (max) on a flash drive to share with the group.
