There are a lot of topic challenges out there on the Internet if you're looking for inspiration and ideas to shoot.

Here are a few links to check out.

Fat Mum Slim: Australian photo blogger who posts a monthly photo-a-day challenge list. She just put up the list for March. Look for the tag #fmsphotoaday on Instagram.

Digital Photography School: This photography website has a section for Weekly Assignments. Follow along, post and tag your shots on Flickr and the weekly thread, and get feedback from other photographers. Assignment leaders pick a best shot each week.

DP Review: Digital Photography Review also has a Challenges section with a number of topics or competitions active at the same time. Each challenge/competition is hosted by a site member who sets the rules. Community members then vote to rank each image.

Bench Monday: Join this Flickr group and post photos of yourself standing on a bench on a Monday. Sometimes it's rules or limitations that make us really get creative.

Photo Friday: Sticking with the days of the week theme, this long-running site posts a new photo assignment every Friday. How it works: take your photo, post it to the photo hosting site of your choice (blog, Tumblr, Flickr, etc) and submit a link to the weekly challenge. Then click on the links in the left column to see how others have interpreted the assignment. You can sign up to receive emails with the topics as they are posted.

If you have other challenges or photo prompts that you like, add them below!
