Lets take a little trip out of Berlin into the Brandenburg countryside.
We'll begin our trip with a visit to Kloster Chorin, a former Cistercian monastery, first built in 1273. More details can be found here (http://www.kloster-chorin.org/). The journey to Chorin from Berlin takes around 40 minutes. From the station there it is a 2km walk to the Kloster, passing through some pleasant woodland and lake scenery. The entry into the Kloster is 4 euro (reduced 2,50), or if we are more than 12 people we can get a group entry ticket for 3 euro per person (reduced 1,50). There is a small restaurant here but for those who want, bring along a picnic lunch and we can have this in the Kloster grounds.
From Chorin it is a short 11 minute train ride to the small town of Angermünde, which has an attractive old town center and scenic lake with a sculpture gallery. Hopefully here we can also find food and drink. For more details see here (http://www.angermuende.de/cms/front_content.php?idcat=74).
Lets meet at Berlin Gesundbrunnen to take the 10:27 train to Chorin, departing from platform 10. Please meet by the ticket machines at the top of the stairs by 10:20. We will travel on the Brandenburg ticket which costs 29 euro for 5 people, splitting the total cost between the total number of people.
