SPRING PHOTO SCHOOL - what's it all about?

Why would you want to sign up for the Spring Photo School?

Well maybe, just maybe you are regularly finding that your images don't quite satisfy you: they don't appear the way you imagined they would when you pressed the shutter.

Maybe you want to know how best to compose your shot so that it looks so much more like a pro-shot.

Maybe you wish your  landscapes looked  more luminous in a way that wows your audience.

Maybe you're an absolute  beginner hoping to improve your skills.

Whatever the reason, for less than the cost of a decent lens this series of six intensive workshops will improve your knowledge and skills

The whole approach to this series is based on the premiss that the only thing that separates the great photographer from the average one is their eye and not their equipment.  While the craft of using the camera is important, it alone will not make you a great photographer.  For that to happen you have to see the potential shot, envision how it will look in the photograph, compose and carefully construct the shot in your mind and only then set the camera settings to fulfill your intent.

In this series of mostly hands-on workshops, you will be part of a very small group of students,  all of whom are looking to develop their 'eye'. You will receive lots of individual attention specifically aimed at your skill level so it doesn't matter where you are currently at - beginner or  expert, you will grow as a photographer.

Covering several key topics such composition, macro, portrait and landscapes, whatever your field,  the expert individually tailored instruction will take you way beyond your current skill level.

This series has helped scores of photographers gain new insights and helped them to massively improve their abilities.  Many of them enjoyed this series so much they  have returned to continue their development in more advanced workshops.

For less than $15 dollars per hour you will get over 40 hours of individually tailored attention from reputedly one of the best photography teachers in New England.  There are just a handful of spaces left for this series (the last offering until the fall). It startson Friday Feb 21 and the classes are spread over three months.

This was my first series of photographic classes with Ian. He is a great teacher, both the experience and the learning was beyond my expectation. Besides the excellent material you will learn, you will come out of these classes with a greater appreciation for the art of photography. I am looking forward to attending many more classes with Ian. Thanks Ian for a job well done.

Fantastic investment in my photographic journey. Love the changes in my eye and finished images. Amazing how I think longer, shoot less and accomplish more. Great to meet and develop friendships with other photo lovers over the 6 class series as well. My favorite class to date.

Another evening of fun and learning with Ian. Ian's passion for photography is matched by his enthusiasm for teaching and sharing his experience. Tonight's first class of this six class series was a great intro and I look forward to incorporating what I learn into making my own images stronger.

Ian is as masterful a teacher as he is a photographer. Bonding easily w/his students, he brings a sense of calm, warmth and simplicity to the subject.
