What we're about
I am a USMC OIF vet, and Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Cliff Hammrick , LPCS. Using what I've learned over the my military and therapist career, I have created a psychotherapy group designed to integrate therapy with physical exercise. It is designed to simultaneously strengthen your mind, self, and body!
The group will run on an 8 week module schedule open to the public. Each week will build on the previous work, but meetings will be independent in content. The group will last for around 60 to 90 minutes and will have dedicated time for introduction, physical warm-up, physical training, and psychological training. Training will be using the peer/partner/buddy system in order to encourage pushing the members to strengthen themselves while discussing the psychological topic. Topics will follow this weekly cycle: 1) Introduction, Grounding, and Relaxation; 2) Thoughts, Emotions, and Processing; 3) Empathy; 4) Problem Solving and Goals;
5) Interpersonal Problems and Processing; 6) Developing Social Skills and Support; 7) Mental Health Symptoms and Management; 8) FUN RUN and Final Discussion and Goal Processing.
Sessions will be on Tuesday and Saturday nights running from 7 to 830 pm. Tuesday groups will be in north Austin and Saturday groups will be in central Austin.
Active military, veterans, emergency response, and police officers will receive a discount price. Pricing is 25 per session, and 20 dollar discounted. Please contact me (email@example.com 443 850 3943) for more details!
