What we're about
Piano Music Lovers of Nashville (PMLON) is a group for anyone interested in PLAYING PIANO FOR ONE ANOTHER and/or listening to piano performance. All skill levels and styles are invited. We share the joy of music, overcome stage jitters, and improve our abilities by performing for others. I (David) mainly play Classical music, but Jazz, Pop, Worship, Show Tunes, Honky Tonk, Ragtime, Stride, New Age, improvisations, and other styles are all equally welcome. Also, we welcome other instrumentalists and vocalists, as long as piano is part of the mix.
Most of our meetups have averaged between 8 to 12 persons performing, each playing between 5 and 15 minutes. They last between 1.5 to 2 hours, with snacks and friendly musical conversation as well as performing.
While open to all in the greater Nashville area, most meetings are held at my house in Franklin, where I have a Steinway grand and a large and comfortable room designed for musical evenings.
We strive for a warm, easy going, mutually encouraging, nonjudgmental, noncompetitive environment that brings out the best in each person.
Newcomers, please join us! And everyone, please let me know if you have questions or suggestions.
