THIS IS A FREE EVENT AT GOOGLE CAMPUS.
****** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, PLEASE READ:
Wow, we reached our RSVP allocation within a few hours of announcing the meet up! We have held back some more RSVP's so please definitely join the waiting list and we'll do everything we can to free up some more space.
Thanks, Ian ******
The format is simple: Pitch up, present your funding or new business deck in 3 minutes and get feedback, ideas and advice from other start ups, biz dev people, entrepreneurs and the odd investor. We're hoping a couple of presentation experts will join in too.
This is a good opportunity not only refine your pitching skills but also get your business in front of the start up community and benefit from their 'crowd-help'.
We aim to get through as many presentations as possible and the idea is that you'll come away with an improved deck and tips on how to present yourself.
6.30pm - 7.00pm Doors open and networking time
7.00pm - 8.50pm Pitch your deck (10 slots available)
8.50pm - 9.00pm Vote for the best deck
9.00pm - Everyone down the pub for some notworking
If you don't have a deck to present but you still want to contribute please come along and share your input.
If you are presenting your deck for the first time ever, here's some quick tips:
FOR BOTH START-UPS AND NEW BIZ
PRACTICE: Practice your timings - you've only got 3 minutes and it goes incredibly quickly.
THE BASICS: Who you are, what problem you solve, the benefits you deliver, why your solution is best.
THE OPPORTUNITY: Market size and how your company will make money. Who are your customers and competitors.
WHAT YOU WANT: Funding amount/business mentors, what you'll be spending the money on.
WHAT YOU WANT: The next steps after the meeting.
Sounds like a lot in 3-minutes? That's why you need practice and maybe some help in rationalising or focusing your pitch!
3 minutes is all you get at funding pitches. In a new business scenario you usually get more than 3 minutes but you still need to make sure you're getting the right information in front of your prospect.
This is very much a community event so get involved.
