This is a choir for capable singers and performers. That's not to say you have to be a trained singer - most members aren't. There are three essential criteria for joining:
the ability to sing boldly and in tune without squeeks, warbles or scoops,
a willingness to be expressive in your performance of songs and
a willingness to practise between rehearsals.
So, if you're looking for a choir that's progressive, passionate and performance-oriented, that sounds good and looks good, Pitchcraft is the one to aim for. But if you're looking for a 'community choir' for a weekly sing-song, Pitchcraft really will be too much for you.
This choir has a fast learning pace. It's not another 'community choir'. Our watchwords are modern, dynamic, unique, fresh and fun. To be a member, you should fit these watchwords too.
See www.pitchcraft.co.uk for the choir's website.
We sing modern, popular songs with unique and dynamic arrangements. We're innovative, and we depart from the older formulae to stage performances that stand out as unique. And it's not for the fainthearted. You'll need energy and plenty of it. If you can sing, and if you're up for rehearsing well and pushing the boundaries of what 'choir' means, then this could be for you. Go to www.pitchcraft.co.uk, have a rummage then try it out if you think you have what it takes. You can even come and enjoy a free taster session before you audition.
Pitchcraft is for those who want a team that works well and progresses quickly. Rehearsals will be a balance of great fun and good focus, making new friends and singing challenging arrangements of modern music.
We use musical scores to learn from, and the members' area of the choir's website has recordings and videos that helps everyone to learn their parts. Every member needs to be willing to sing AND perform.
Membership Requirements There are no restrictions on race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability provided you can demonstrate the singing and performance requirements.
Membership Fees Membership is £20 per month. Concessions are available for students and low income - just ask. For that, you'll be a member of a great choir that works well, plays well, sings unique arrangements of amazing songs and raises lots of money for charity whilst having a great deal of fun. You'll probably already know that singing contributes significantly to your health and well-being, and you'll also have your own good reasons for wanting to sing in such a choir. You'll have access to online scores, mp3s and videos for learning.
What songs will the choir perform? The repertoire is varied and versatile to keep it fun and interesting.
