Today's Jazz on the River Cruise

user 8491195
South Park, PA
Hope everyone is looking forward to today's jazz cruise.

I don't think we could ask for much nicer weather to be out on the rivers.

If we haven't met before, I'll be wearing something easy to spot -- black Nautica shirt, light khaki pants, and glasses. Please feel free to introduce yourself.

Because online ticket sales will end around 11:30 AM, it is recommended that you arrive early to buy at the door.

As mentioned in Thursday's Trib (May 29), there will be a free tugboat tour on Sunday beginning at 10 AM near the Gateway Clipper docks.

So our plan for meeting is as follows:

11:00 AM - noon Optional tug boat tour near Gateway Clipper (those doing the tour may wish to stay a little longer)

11:45 AM - 12:15 PM Station Square Fountains (and grab a coffee at nearby Crazy Mocha) -- this is for the people who don't want to do the tugboat tour.

12:15-12:30 PM Check out food or get a drink before boarding the Gateway Clipper Empress.

12:30 - 1 PM Onboard the Empress

The cruise will depart at 1 PM. Please don't be late.

Free Tugboat Tour (10 AM to 4 PM)
The free tour will be aboard the M/V Chuck Zebula, compliments of RiverWorks Discovery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1. The free tour includes views of the engine room, wheelhouse, galley and crew's living quarters. Visitors will learn how the towboat works and examine the materials transported on the barges the towboat pulls. Crew members will answer questions, and give accounts of what it is like to work aboard the towboat daily.
