Taxes 2020 edition - What to Know

Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce

Does the thought of getting your business financial information together for taxes intimidate you? Are you confident that you are getting the benefit of all available deductions? What about state and local taxes? How can you tell if you are paying enough in estimates? Elizabeth (Li) Connolly, CPA, President of Connolly, Steele & Company, P.C. has been helping small business owners for over 23 years with these and other questions. Please join us for a good discussion on how to prepare for taxes in 2020. Presented by Li Connolly of Connolly Steele + Company www.connollysteele.com Li Connolly has been in the business of helping clients make sense of financial matters for more than 25 years. As the founding owner of both Connolly, Steele & Company, a CPA firm in business for more than 20 years, and CSC Financial Strategies, her goal is to educate clients and provide clarity on tax and financial planning concerns. Li serves her clients with the belief that it is most important that they are fully informed when making important financial decisions. Li is proud to be a life-long Pittsburgh resident. After graduating from Duquesne University in 1988 and working for several years in the auditing department of Touche Ross, she spent some time as controller at Longue Vue Club before leaving with the entrepreneurial intent to be in business for herself and control her own destiny. Connolly, Steele & Company was formed to provide small to medium sized businesses and individuals with support with tax and financial compliance along with customized strategies for maximizing the after-tax enjoyment of their money. When she isn’t hard at work, Li and her husband and boys enjoy camping, biking and kayaking. www.connollysteele.com We do things a little differently than other financial advisors. It's all about communication, learning, and careful planning. Much of our process is focused on education: You teach us about your business, your current situation, and your goals. Then, we help you develop a strategy, learn how to reach those goals, and become tax efficient. Connolly, Steele & Company works hard to ensure that every client receives the close analysis and attention they deserve. Our mission is helping our clients achieve their goals. And that's also our passion. *Pittsburgh Women's Mastermind is for women entrepreneurs who want to experience personal and professional growth in a supportive and inspiring community. Quality Decision Making - How to Get Moving in the Right Direction Again

**UPDATE** Location CHANGE for South Hills chapter meetings. Meetings will be held at: Bridger Financial Group Greentree Commons 381 Mansfield Ave. Ste. 400 Pittsburgh, PA 15220 ******************** Presented by: Maartje van Krieken of de_maartje LLC www.demaartje.com Decision making is sometimes easy, but more often very hard. Not making decisions, making them half or not making decisions right leads to doing more work then needed, stress, anxiety, doubt, apathy, conflict, stagnation, going round in circles, information overload etc etc and ultimately harms our business and us. Stanford university has developed a very practical theory (& associated tools) of 'Quality Decision Making' (combined with strategic risk management) that is especially very relevant for large, complex problems and projects with large complex organizations with decision makers at many different levels. However, as an expert in this theory, I find that many elements of it are also very helpful on a much smaller scale - to me as an individual, as a business owner and to other individuals or small teams I coach, mentor or consult with on a day to day basis. In this presentation I plan to share with you a very practical basic tool for you to use when managing through dilemma's and / or the next time you find yourself somewhat 'stuck'. I help leaders develop structure, fit for purpose plans and facilitate decision making to move ideas and initiatives for projects, programs and/or change into execution or manage through a crisis. I also provide leadership shadow coaching, managing for diversity & inclusion and managing through ethical dilemma's. My management consultancy services bring an independent perspective, leveraging almost 20 years of experience working on-site with joint-ventures and multinationals in the Oil- & (Natural) Gas Industry across the globe (Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America). I am a Dutch Engineer, who recently resigned from an almost 20 years international career in the oil- & gas industry. I have broad general management experience in working project-, development- and change management in many different countries around the world on upstream (=extraction) oil- & gas developments. I have decided I want to redirect my energy and passion for international collaboration, tackling the gender equality challenge and managing through change, a crisis or dilemma to a business environment I feel more connected to, using my voice in a position of privilege, working towards the greater good in the world rather than the benefits & profits of a few. I am working through this career transition in my own management consulting company, as a member of the United Way Women Leadership Council and by obtaining my International Coaching Federation accreditation in 2020. *Pittsburgh Women's Mastermind is for women entrepreneurs who want to experience personal and professional growth in a supportive and inspiring community.
