5010 N Jugtown Rd, Morris, IL
The trail loops around to a couple other trails. There are great views at the top of hills and nature abounds! I plan to get 10 miles in with hitting the hills a couple times. Everyone should feel comfortable with their own pace and preferred distance. I will be hiking at a brisk 4 miles per hour.
Most of the trail is dry, but the times I have been there did require walking through a few parts of the trail that were covered in a few inches of water. You may want to consider that when choosing your shoes.
Drinking water and snacks
A good attitude
Decent walking /hiking shoes (maybe water proof??)
Dress in comfortable layers and according to weather forecast
Take I-55, South of the Kankakee River; take Lorenzo Road West 6 1/2 miles. Turn north on Jugtown Rd. Watch for Park Sign. Continue on to the Visitor center after making a right at the stop sign.
I think you will enjoy it if you haven't been there before AND if you have!
