I plan to hike 8-10 miles or so...
We will leave PROMPTLY at 9:00 am. This walk will take a couple hours...depending on the desired speed and distance. I intend to keep it at about 4 miles per hour, if you want to go slower, please state so in the comments so that people who would also like to go at that pace know they can pair up with you. We could start to run out of sunlight, but we should be able to complete our walk.
The preserve’s trails stay to the perimeter, giving visitors wonderful views and wildlife extra privacy. Over 7 miles are open to hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers; 2 miles of narrow, mowed trails allow visitors, except bicyclists, a closer view of the preserve’s natural features. Sections of the trail may be closed during key bird breeding seasons to protect critical nesting habitats.
