- Plant Powered Omaha
Hello everyone! Our next meetup will be on June 25th from 5:30 - 7:00 and we'd love to see you there! A few things I want to mention: FIRST: We are CHANGING LOCATIONS for the next few meetups. This time we will be meeting at the NEBRASKA METHODIST COLLEGE at 720 North 87th street (1 block north of Dodge). Enter at the main entrance and there will be someone at the front desk to direct you. There will also be signs posted. This meeting will be more interactive, the first half of our meeting will be a group discussion; the second half Melissa will be sharing some great information about the Plant Based World Conference she attended in New York City. I can't wait to hear all about it! SECOND: If anyone would like to bring a WFPB snack or dish please send me a message and let me know what you'll be bringing. This is a good opportunity to try a new recipe (we don't mind being guinea pigs) or share a favorite food item you've made before. Or something very simple works too! This should be a fun event and we hope to see you there!
- Plant Powered Omaha
Hello Plant Powered Omahans! I hope you've all been enjoying the nice weather and eating well! Mark your calendars for our next event scheduled for TUESDAY May 28th from 5:30-7:00 at the Swanson Library 90th and Dodge in the meeting room downstairs. Park on the lower level and walk straight back to the end of the hall (there will be signs). We'll have some snacks and talk about many of the topics you listed on the survey from the first meeting. If you haven't checked out the recipes on our discussion board, please do! And if you missed my message about the free on-line Food Revolution Summit, here is the link to sign up https://www.foodrevolutionsummit.org/ Always feel free to message me with questions or post them to the Meetup discussion board. Hope to see you at the upcoming event!
- Plant Powered Omaha Kick-Off!
Join us for the kick-off of PLANT POWERED OMAHA! We will have some great food for you to sample, a drawing, some great information about the benefits of plant based nutrition and some time to get acquainted with one another. Then we'll wrap it up with a presentation by Melissa Sherlock, Food For Life Instructor and Q & A. The Whole Food Plant Based movement has hit the ground running nationally and is quickly gaining momentum here in the Midwest. Our intent is to grow a community of people right here in Omaha who want to live right, have fun, and be the healthiest they can possibly be. This is a free community-service program, no selling, everyone is welcome. Seating is limited so please sign up only if you plan to attend. NOTE: Subsequent meetings will be held at different times and locations, to be determined. See you there!
