This group is for anyone in the Orange County or Southern California area seeking a community that loves the earth.
Our goal is to learn about plants & sustainability, have fun outdoors, live healthier, and discuss real-life things that matter. If you want to take a break from electronic devices, feel close to nature, find new friends, honor California’s beauty, or explore practical ways to heal yourself and actively help the natural world, this group is for you!
This group began with a small group of friends in their 20s and 30s who love being connected to nature. We noticed that many people wish to find an informative, action-oriented team of down-to-earth people, but it can be hard to find in OC! That's why this group is open to anyone. We uphold a strong standard of inclusivity, light-hearted fun, nerdiness, and respect for all elements, people, & species.
+ DO I NEED TO HAVE ANY SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE BEFORE I JOIN THIS GROUP?
Nope! You don't have to know anything about plants, nature, or sustainability. Just show up and be willing to learn and have fun.
+ WHAT WILL I LEARN?
A lot! We’ll have outside hangouts, speakers, potlucks, hikes, herbal classes, cooking advice, outdoor fitness, gardening techniques, responsible foraging guidance, CA natural history lessons, plant & tree identification tours, active outreach days, beach cleanups, and more... It all depends on the week.
Come join Plant LOVE's very first meetup! Let's all meet, get to know each other, and enjoy a relaxing nature walk as we share ideas & inspiration for the overall potential of this community.
This is a free, laid back, "intro" gathering with light walking and some sun.
We'll hang out while sitting in the shade for the first half of the meetup. Try to arrive on time so everyone can be there for brief introductions.
After we chat a bit, we'll walk by several quiet nature spots and see some beautiful trees.
WHAT TO BRING:
+ SPF/ Sun Protection
+ Light snacks for yourself (optional)
+ Any knowledge, ideas, or wisdom you wish to share with the group (also optional) <3
