What we're about

What's your definition of "Play"? My definition is "Joyful Exploration".

What's your image of "Pain Management"? Does it involve more pain and possibly drudgery?

How would it feel to reduce pain in a playful and pleasant way?

Do you see pain as something that happens to you? I see chronic pain as the result of moving in a way that doesn't work well for your body. It's your body's way of saying "Don't do that. Something's wrong." It's possible to learn to move in more effective ways that work better for your body and stop causing pain. It involves curiosity. If you move in a curious way, you can notice what's working for you and what's not. Then you have a choice. You can do things the way that you've always done them, or you can try doing them the new way you've found that seems to work better.

Feldenkrais is a movement education method that uses novel movements and curiosity to help you learn more comfortable ways to move. The classes always aim to be comfortable and fun. When we do things more than once, we're practicing them. If we do things in a comfortable way, we get good at that. If we do things in an uncomfortable way, we get good at that. I prefer the former, so if anything ever hurts in class, we look for another way to do it. With this, people tend to leave classes in a good mood and more comfortable.

This meetup will be a 1-1/2 hour long class exploring movements to help you learn about yourself and find easier movement.

The price of the first class is just your curiosity.

We'll meet at my office at 15650 NE 24th St, Suite C3, Bellevue (corner of 156th Ave NE & NE 24th, 1 mile south of Microsoft main campus, close to Trader Joe's)

http://movebeyondlimits.com/Contact_us.htm has a map.

To start with, I'm setting the time as 2:30 to 4:00 on the first and third Saturday of each month. If some other time would work better for you, let me know and I'll see what works for the group. As the group grows, I'll add more times.

It's also possible to join remotely if you have a computer/device with a camera, such as a laptop or tablet.

Questions? Are you curious?

Feel free to message, call, or email me.

Thanks,

Ed Mills
