• Goalkeeper Tryouts

    Randall's Island Field #70

Beyond FC Metro is looking for a new goalkeeper. We are a 11-a-side soccer team playing in the CSL Metro division and would like to see you in action at one of our next training sessions. In terms of level, we are talking Experienced/College level. As a bonus, we have an ex-pro GK on the team who has experience training goalies so that could be a good opportunity for you to learn as well. If you are interested to tryouts, please join this meetup and get in touch.

    Chelsea Waterside Park

  • Thursday Night Group Run

    New York Sports Club

Meet at 7:15pm outside of the New York Sports Club on 8th Ave between 16th and 17th (conveniently located near the A,C,E,L,1,2,&3 trains). If you have valuables, I will lock them up inside NYSC (I have a locker, so nothing too large please). This week will be a fun "Fartlek" Run where each person in the group takes a turn leading an interval and setting the pace. If necessary, we will break into groups based on paces after a warmup to Hudson River Greenway where we will: Run north along the Hudson River Greenway Turn around after 15min and return to NYSC (If there are multiple groups we should theoretically end at the same place around the same time) Optional stop at Chelsea Piers for 5-10min Core workout For more on a Fartlek workout, see here (these are examples of more "formal" Fartleks with specific intervals, we will be much more informal but the idea/benefits are the same): http://www.runnersworld.com/race-training/the-lost-art-of-fartlek http://blog.strava.com/wow-the-moneghetti-9402/#more-9402 Text me with questions:[masked] Andrew
