PAPI (Plein Air Painters of Idaho) is a group of artists dedicated to the advancement of on-location painting in Idaho.
Plein air is a French expression which means "in the open air," and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. PAPI members encourage and promote plein air as a unique form of artistic expression. Though we are noted for being painters, our members work in various mediums. So, those who prefer oil, water color or acrylic paints, pastel sticks or various other drawing mediums, all are welcome.
The Idaho landscape is rich in variety and majesty. Idaho's rugged peaks, pristine lakes, vast canyons, raging rivers and flowing grasslands beckon artists of all abilities.
Through the fellowship of professional and amateur artists alike, members are encouraged to share ideas, enthusiasm and experience with each other and with all those who appreciate great art.
Help plan 2019 for PAPI members, all sorts of fun events new and old. AND trade art supplies or donate to West Ada Education Foundation.
If you are not a member but want to be, you can join at this meeting and meet other artists who paint around the state.
PAPI MEMBERS who have PARTICIPATED in weekly paint outs at EDWARDS GREENHOUSE this winter are invited to show their Plein Air paintings at the opening of the January POP UP PARK at Edwards Nursery. There is only room for 10 so please, only PAID MEMBERS who have painted at Edwards.
Edwards would like paintings which were painted there BUT participating artists may bring other paintings. WE WANT YOU! No commission on sales. You must handle your own sales.
Edwards is advertising this event so there should be a good crowd.
There is a new wall and details are being worked out as to how many can hang their work. Otherwise, artists must bring their own display materials such as easels and tables. We will set up at 10:30 am and get ready for the show. Take down is at 4:00 that same day.
