What we're about

PAPI (Plein Air Painters of Idaho) is a group of artists
dedicated to the advancement of on-location painting in Idaho.

Plein air is a French expression which means "in the open air," and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. PAPI members encourage and promote plein air as a unique form
of artistic expression. Though we are noted for being painters, our members work in various mediums. So, those who prefer oil, water color or acrylic paints, pastel sticks or various other drawing mediums, all are welcome.

The Idaho landscape is rich in variety and majesty. Idaho's rugged peaks,
pristine lakes, vast canyons, raging rivers and flowing grasslands beckon artists of all abilities.

Through the fellowship of professional and amateur artists alike,
members are encouraged to share ideas, enthusiasm and experience with each other
and with all those who appreciate great art.
