As a writer, I would love to publish my novel independently this year, as that's what I help other authors do! But I've been away from it for several months while building my business, so I hope to revisit it this year, give it another sound rewrite (#14!), and then turn it over to a professional editor—for the second time—who specializes in fiction. Once I'm feeling confident about the content, I'll pursue the design and publication, hiring myself, of course! :-) In the meantime, I'm working to build an audience through my blog, Facebook, Twitter, and other outlets so that I'll hopefully be able to establish some interest in my novel until the big launch occurs!
I've written women's/literary fiction (an as-yet unpublished novel that's had many rewrites and is getting there!) ... and I work with writers of non-fiction and fiction as a Book Doctor—professional editor (developmental editing for non-fiction only; copyediting and proofreading for both) and book cover and interior designer. I have a blog focused on keeping authors in the loop on all things indie publishing, and I also provide writing services to my author clients for engaging titles/subtitles, book descriptions, and other marketing materials.
I take self-publishing authors by the hand and transform their manuscript into the book they've dreamed of—from impeccable editing to professional, audience-targeted cover and interior design—rivaling or exceeding a traditional house publication.
