Thank you Eric.

I have posted it on the Meetup site under Discussions and as an invitation to watch!

My best,
Anne

Hello,

I'd like to share something.  Since everyone here are writers, words are important and these maybe the most important words I ever wrote.

I wrote these words on the night of 9/11/01.  After watching all the aftermath on CNN I just remember every now and then the camera would span away from the buildings and over the harbor and then I saw Lady Liberty standing tall with her torch of Freedom surrounded by smoke.  The image was so striking and powerful to me... I literally wrote down...

"Lady Liberty stood tall through it all and passed the torch to the world today"

Then through the night more words started coming to me, next thing you know I had a very lyrical poem called "Where Eagles Dare" and what I hoped to me an uplifting message.  That you can bomb our buildings but you can't take our FREEDOM.  So I emailed that to friends and family literally the night of September 11th, 2001.

About a year later in late August 2002 a guy named Ken, who I never met, emailed and said he was so inspired by my words he created a song out of them.  So I wrote the words and Ken wrote the music, played the music with his band, and he sang.  I wish I was the guy who could do all that... but I'm just the words man, haha.

Well listen to it and let me know what you think??
Even just the song alone is so moving and has touched many for the past 9 years.  And the last couple of years, people always say Eric you need to make it a YOUTUBE Video.  So I finally just did... to HONOR our Heroes, the American Spirit, and to honor the innocent families on all sides of the borders lost at war.

Check it out, if you like it spread the word...

Thank you,
Eric~

Hi Writers,

I have handed the controller over to the very capable and creative Anne Tammel. I first took over this group in February of 2006, and I met Anne at a meetup in my home in 2008. We have been friends ever since and will continue to be, as I hope with many of you.

I'm moving to Spokane, Washington, which is one giant step away from my beloved Idaho, where I was raised, and my beloved mother, whom I need to be closer to. I asked for and received permission to transfer with my current company.

Well, I'll update you sometime on my relentless efforts to get Driving the Birds published. My agent experienced a disaster in his life, so I'm back to seeking a new agent. Yes, I'm going to start a group in Spokane!

Many of you have enriched my life, too many name, really. I thank you all for your kindness and assistance in helping me fulfill my dreams as a writer and one day, author.

Best regards,

Russell Traughber
