What we're about

If you enjoy live-stage performances, let’s Meetup to see local theater, or other activities related to the performing arts! Venues will include the Bridge Street Theater in Catskill, the Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck, County Players in Wappingers Falls, Clove Creek Dinner Theater in Fishkill, Parker and McKenna theaters in New Paltz, Shadowland Stages in Ellenville, Philipstown Depot Theatre in Garrison, and more!

For live theater events, I’ll announce the location, date, and time of the performance. You will be responsible for securing your own ticket. I will announce my seat number in the comments. Some events will have an RSVP deadline, while others may be last-minute where we’ll snag whatever seating is available when we arrive. At times, I may reserve a block of seating and hand out tickets at the event, or post a “Will Call” notice, where you’ll pick up your ticket at the venue just before the performance.

Members should feel free to suggest performances they’d like to see and I’ll do my best to accommodate all interests.

With the introduction of this Meetup, my Organizer fees have increased (I run several groups), so I’m asking for a $2 contribution for each event you attend. Thanks so much for helping out.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: If you commit to an event and find you are unable to attend, update your RSVP to "No" asap, or contact the event host, so that someone else can have the opportunity to go, and the rest of us are not waiting for you.

The Letters - Bridge Street Theater

Bridge Street Theater

Let's Meetup for the World Premiere preview performance of "The Letters" at the Bridge Street Theater in Catskill. Date: Thursday, April 25th at 7:30 pm Tickets: "Pay what you Will" preview 😀 I've been told that these preview performances have never been sold out. I love this little theater so let's take a chance. Synopsis: It’s 2002. Henry and Rachel are language nerds - he studies dead languages, she studies living languages. And Rajiv is an artist who lives with them both in a squat in Berlin, enmeshed in a post-collegiate tangle of friendship, love, and sex. They’re all 22, the world is full of possibility, and they want it all. Then suddenly it’s NYC 12 years later and it’s all coming apart. Henry is gone and Rajiv and Rachel’s long engagement is fraying when a fourth character enters their lives. In the course of a single day (with flashbacks to the times they shared in Berlin), these achingly human characters wrestle with the past and try to chart a future for themselves in a language they have yet to create. The play was developed with the support of New York Stage and Film, March 2018. All the World's a Stage MeetUps are all about socializing and having a good time. As always, if your plans change and you can no longer attend, please adjust your rsvp accordingly. Thank you! Note: To cover my Meetup organizer fees, I ask for a $2 contribution for each event you attend. Thanks for helping out so that I can continue scheduling interesting theater events for us to attend. I'll see you at the theater!

The Drowsy Chaperone - County Players Theatre

County Players Theatre

Let's Meetup at County Players Theatre in Wappingers Falls for a Friday, May 10th at 8:00 pm performance of "The Drowsy Chaperone." Link to purchase tickets: http://countyplayers.org/tickets/ Box Office:[masked] Performance Date: Friday, May 10, 2019 Time: 8 pm Tickets: $25 Adults, $20 Seniors My tickets are on the left side, row A, seats 5 and 7. Synopsis: A parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s, the story concerns a middle-aged, musical theatre fan. As he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage. The plot incorporates mistaken identities, dream sequences, spit takes, an unflappable English butler, an absent-minded dowager, a Broadway impresario, comic gangsters, a ditzy chorine, a harried best man, and a “Drowsy” (i.e. “tipsy”) Chaperone, played in the show-within-a-show by a blowzy Grande Dame of the Stage. The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at the musical theatre genre. The Perfect Broadway Musical ~ New York Magazine.
