a FAST-PACE short hike to Crystal Falls

This is not a beginner hike! It is not long or difficult but the pace is quick and without breaks.

This will be a quick paced hike (not trail running but fast walking) along a fairly well used trail with few steep bits, roots or loose rocks. If you are unfamiliar with the trail, this route will be less than five km of trail. Hazards are few but the trail is a mountain bike route from Burke Mountain trails so there are often close calls with fast riders.  NOTE: this trail is a mountainside hiking trail in a city and not an urban gravel walking path. We will be walking fast for conditioning and there is actually very little view along the trail other than the falls at the turnaround point.

WHERE TO MEET: To get to the trailhead go to the north end of Shaughnessy Street, just north of David Avenue and just east of the Coquitlam River (in Coquitlam but most people think of it as Port Coquitlam). There is lots of street parking.

Sorry changed my mind. My short legs prevent me from keeping up to most men.

I find that most of the walking meetsup
are intimidating. Like " not for beginers "
And there r no brakes and so on.
I really thought that the meaning of this meet ups are for exactly that meet new people and excerzise at the same time.

there are many Meetups and many Meetup groups and yes... they allow people with similar interests and abilities to meet and do things. Groups or meetups within groups could be for hard-core triathlete wannabes or social walkers or anything in between. AND, in this group anyone can suggest a meetup so if you don't see what you are interested in please suggest something... perhaps you are not alone.

Hi Tomas - try Hang on I'm coming or Vancouver Easy Riders Activity Group, they both offer hikes and activities for slower people.
