What do you hope to get from this Meetup group?

I would like to organize a group of DIYBio enthusiasts to 1) discuss all/any aspects of DIYBio, 2) develop projects, and 3) setup Portland's first community DIYbio lab and hackerspace. I hope to learn more about bioengineering, sythentic biology, programming, and most importantly, your ideas!

What skills/knowledge can you offer, if any?

My background is in ecology, biology, and geology. I am brushing up on DNA/microbiology (I have some lab experience) and teaching myself how to code using Python. I am diligent, curious, and looking to benefit our community through biology.

Hello! My name is Erik. I have a B.S. in Biology from Portland State University. My passions reside in all things biology and I would like to make biology available to a wider audience. I see biology as a keystone tool of future technology.
