• Chart Night Tuesdays - Vocalist and Newbie Assistance
    • What we'll do Charts are the short-cut to communicating how to get your song done your way. For vocalists, singer-songwriters, and anybody attending a jam who wants to communicate a new song, having a solid chart in your key makes the conversation a whole lot easier. Learn how to make charts, how to read them, how to share them, and how to customize them so that you can get your song done, your way, every time. Goal: At the end of the night, you will walk out with at least one song of your choice charted out in your key. Next time you want a musician to play along on your song, simply show them your chart in your repertoire book and you're ready to start. Note: A suggested donation of $15 helps keep these vocal workshops in circulation. • What to bring Note-taking material, and your own personal song selections • Important to know Respond in the comments section with a link to a particular song you wish to explore.

  • Seasoned Sunday Studio Sessions
    • What we'll do Seasoned Sunday Jam Band workshop - make it good! Goal: Seasoned musicians meet to stretch and work out, together The Sunday-evening jam-band workshop is an opportunity for musicians and vocalists to put into practice their entire arsenal of tools, and enjoy getting into fun details and nuanced blends. Ex-players know that skills atrophy. The best of us need to play music together, live, in order to maintain our music. Once you're in shape, you need to exercise to maintain. We'll choose songs for the night (including instrumental vamp sessions), talk about parts, work out bits as detailed as we like to be, and then have at it! It is reasonable to assume a few go-arounds will help take the edges off, and then we'll have a final go at a 'performance' we can be happy with. Recording the final 'performance' attempt is a great way to give yourself feedback. Over the night, we'll work out up to six songs of everybody's choice. Expect some 'meatier' choices, and enjoy pushing yourself. Note: All players are welcome, but no band has seven guitars -- we'll share the landscape and all add what we can. Respond to the comments when you RSVP if there is a particular song you'd like to suggest ahead of time. Note: A suggested donation of $10 (if you can afford it) helps keep these weekly workout jam sessions going. • What to bring Bring any instrument or equipment you wish to, but you're also free to use house equipment. • Important to know We'll be doing the same songs a few times, trying to make our version sound the best it can. We'll be enjoying the details!
