Rob "Bodhi" W.

Music Coach - Bad Wolf Music

Portland, OR
Hometown: Edmonton

Organizer since:

January 27, 2007

What style of music do you prefer to play? (eg. modern rock, jazz, country, etc.)

I play just about every type of music professionally and semi-professionally, but I love modern music and Celtic rock. Local reference? Anything you'd hear on Kink.Fm is probably fair game in my shows!

Who are some of your favourite musical influences?

Coldplay, Dave Matthews, U2, various Canadian bands, and any catchy ear-worm hit from the last 20 or 30 years.

Do you sing?

What instruments do you play?

I play piano/keyboards, guitar, bass, mandolin, bodhran, cajon, and harmonica. I'm adequate on drums a basic drumkit. I also can provide decent accompaniment on a number of hand percussion instruments, pennywhistle, melodica, and a number of other doodads. Over the years, I've noodled with just about every instrument I can get my hands on.

How long have you been making music?

I've been a professional musician for about 5 years. I've been making music for about thirty years, since I was just a kid. I played piano in a restaurant in high school, played in a few bands during University, and have generally always been knocking about a tune or two. Recently I've fronted the Lost Highwaymen, and Finn Doxie, here in Portland.

Transplanted Canadian. I run Bad Wolf Music -- a Music-Coaching business. I also record and produce stuff in VR/360.

What Rob "Bodhi" W. is saying about this Meetup Group

I keep meeting wonderful musicians who keep me on my toes, and teach me new and interesting things. I love learning the new tunes, and being exposed to the various influences. I appreciate the variety that we have, and the differences that people bring to the table. Plus, they always let me try out new tunes that I just learned the day before! Thanks to everybody for their contributions!
