When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea, put cats in the coffee and mice in the tea. Fill up your satchels with treacle and ink and let’s Draw Queen Alice at the Ford Food and Drink!
Join us this Frabjous day at brillig for a holiday figure-drawing session based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll!
Our guest-model, Storm Collier, will be on stage and in Costume-wear holding a series of 7 poses, lasting 110-minutes (with the usual :20-minute break in the middle to share our drawings).
The cost is $10.00 to join in. That is an awesome price for the work that goes into these so let’s show our model our appreciation by showing up on time with our cash ready and by finding our seats promptly so that we can start at 4:20. There will be benches in front of the stage and café seating around the benches.
Storm Collier is new here to Portland, but a longtime friend to Self-expression and Art. She enjoys writing poetry under the pen name, "Windleaf", and has performed spoken word in a multitude of venues where she used to live in Miami, Florida. In college, she was a figure model for different drawing- and clay-medium-based classes. Nowadays her focus is on obtaining her Masters in Nursing, but she still finds time to appreciate the local galleries or unwind at various art events. She is very excited to be modeling as Alice for you, and looks forward to seeing our interpretation of a classical tale come to life on paper once again.
Bring your favorite art-supplies keeping in mind that they serve food here, so no oils, toxic, or messy mediums please.. This café has been totally cool about letting us hold our sessions here, so let’s show them our appreciation by being clean, courteous to their other guests, and by not bringing in outside food and beverages, but by purchasing Foods & Beverages from them!
*Please find me to check-in..
Hope to see you there!
