While many of us agree with IBM CEO Thomas Watson Jr.’s famous declaration that “good design is good business,” we often struggle to be able to prove it. As a systems thinker, Deb Mrazek has developed an array of frameworks, tools, and platforms to leverage the power of design and systems thinking at project, group, organizational and global levels, bridging the language of design and the language of business. She has authored and presented on the topic of Design Value for over 10 years, including co-authoring the seminal article “The DMI Design Value Scorecard: A New Design Measurement and Management Model.” In 2015, she was recognized by the Design Management Institute for her contributions to the design industry about Design Value. In 2017, Deb co-founded to help people cultivate the quality, profile and value of design in their organizations through workshops, embedded consulting and tailored coaching. She believes that only by bridging the language and thinking of business and design can the true value of design truly be realized.
