There was such a great turnout when we offered this class in December that Linda has graciously agreed to offer a second class for PHMG members- thank you, Linda!!
Linda Kocourek is an American Heart Association certified CPR and First Aid trainer , and has agreed to teach this class for her fellow PHMG members for the very reasonable price of $55.00. Following the successful completion of the class you will receive a 2 year certification from the American Heart Association, which should arrive via USPS within 2 weeks or so. If you are taking CPR training for a work requirement, please be aware of what version your job requires- this is not the Healthcare Provider (BLS) version.
Not that I (Zachary) have any ulterior motives for helping to arrange this class, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that a CPR/First Aid certification also happens to be one of the requirements for becoming a Hike Leader in the PHMG. But seriously, even if leading hikes isn’t something that you’re interested in pursuing, this is a great class to take because you never know when this stuff may come in handy, be it out on a hike or just around town.
The class begins PROMPTLY at 10:00am, so please arrive by 9:45. We will not start until 10, but we will use the time to register everyone and get settled in. Class ends approximately at 4:30pm, depending on class performance. There will be a half-hour break for lunch, and there's a stellar food cart pod a few short blocks away at Belmont and 43rd. There will be NO FOOD OR DRINK EXCEPT WATER allowed in the classroom, but there will be space downstairs to sit and eat lunch, and there may even be coffee ;). I'll try to have this ready at 9:45 so you can get your buzz on while you get registered, before we hit the classroom.
***RSVPs will close at 11:45pm on Thursday March 14. After the RSVPs have closed, refunds will be given solely at the discretion of the Event Host (Linda), and only for truly emergent circumstances. ***
As a courtesy to the neighbors, please DO NOT park on 44th St north of the Meeting house. There should be ample of parking on Stark and the other side streets. Thank you!
