Wind Mountain AND Gillette Lake Two-fer!!

RSVP for this event will open Monday March 3 @ 7:00 PM

TOTAL MILES 10.5 miles ELEVATION GAIN: 2000 ft
PACE: Moderate 2.5
DIFFICULTY RATING: Moderate – but a long day!
PERMITS: NW-Forest Pass for Drivers

CARPOOLING: RT mileage is 110 miles, give or take; we suggest a mileage donation of 10 cents/mile/person, or $11.00. Exact change makes it easier to divide among our drivers. No one will be turned away for an inability to contribute. Thanks!

Who is up for a Two-fer... ?...these two little hikes offer plenty of eye candy on a less than perfect weather day… First we will travel to Wind Mountain … a wonderful short little cone that sets in the shadow of Dog Mountain and offers a lot of view for the effort… we will take in views to the East and West as we complete the little summit circle before heading back down to the cars… then we will drive a short distance to the Bonneville Trailhead and take this access trail to the PCT…and follow it thru what is .. unfortunately a lot of clear-cut areas…but we have the lake to look forward to… if time permits we will trek about a mile past the lake for a great view of Table Mountain before retracing our steps to our vehicles…. All in all the day will unfold about ten miles of trail give or take and a couple thousand feet of elevation gain… beauty is where you find it right?... ;)

Please note that there is a MANUAL waiting list for this hike. What this means is that if a spot opens up everyone on the waiting list will automatically receive an e-mail notifying them of the opening. The first person (whether on the waiting list or not) to RSVP gets the spot.

NO DOGS, please.
