The weather looks great for a view hike. This hike starts from Bonneville Hot Springs and follows some old roads and trails through heavy forest gainning minimal elevation. Then we get to Heartbreak ridge where the climb really begins gaining 700' in a half mile, then the trail flattens out with some nice views before we get to the talus field for a fun scramble. Once we reach the summitt the views of Hood, St. Helens, Adams and Rainier should be awesome. We will do this as a loop comming down a different but just as steep route. Total elevation gain is 3350' over 8 miles round trip making this hike rating difficult. The pace will be somewhat moderate but not too slow. You may want to bring extra water, hiking poles and yaktraks are always a good idea to keep in your pack until summer. Driving past Table mt on the Oregon side last weekend I could not see any snow. 80 miles round trip drive, please bring 8$ if you are riding.
