Mount Rainier Backpacking
The 4-Days backpacking trip in the Rainier National Park is an unforgettable experience for any outdoor enthusiast. On this trip you will learn fundamental skills necessary for safe backcountry travel such as navigation, packing, leave no trace, and cooking, all while enjoying one of the most pristine and rugged wildernesses the Pacific Northwest has to offer. The trip is suitable for either seasoned hiker looking to start backpacking or the total beginner hoping to spend a first night under the stars. Our professional guides will lead you through the Carbon River Basin, home to mountain streams, blue glaciers, sky high volcanoes, old growth trees and abundant wildlife. This amazing setting will be our classroom as we learn and practice the do’s and don’ts of traveling, sleeping, and eating while backpacking. In preparation for the trip, guides will help each participant find the elusive balance between packing too much stuff and leaving something critical behind. The hike itself is enough to get your heart pumping but it boasts many easy stretches that will allow you to keep your eyes fixed on the endless views. We plan to enjoy our time in the park at a comfortable pace, since half the fun of being outdoors is escaping our busy lives! There are some tough sections though, so be prepared to be challenged and amazed!
