This Norse Yuletide Ritual will be indoors!
Columbia Grove, ADF invites you to join us in our festive neopagan Yuletide celebration ritual honoring Nordic Gods and Goddesses. As we approach the darkest night of the year let us take a moment’s pause to honor the day in which Night and Day are equal and the sun reborn again! In celebration and cheer we will tell the epic tail of the all-father Odin’s sacrifice on the Yiggdrasil as well as pay our respect to the Goddess Freya through oath swearing upon her sacred boar.
As we honor the Kindreds (Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Gods and Goddess) we will bring forth the Yule log consecrated by the wishes of our guests for the New Year. In addition to Odin and Freya, this celebration will honor Thor as our protector and warrior, the earth mother Jörd, Bragi for inspiration, Heimdall as our gatekeeper between the worlds
as well as our Sovereign Goddess of this land, Columbia.
This ritual will be a merry on with festive songs and high spirits!
Disclaimer: With utmost respect to all of our guests, this will not be a traditional Asatru ritual; It will be an ADF structured ritual honoring Norse Gods and Goddesses and keeping their memory alive through modern practice. We welcome pagans of all spiritual paths to join us and take part in the merriment and joy of the season!
May we all join together to spark that fire can only happen after the darkest night!
We assemble at 6:30 pm, and ritual begins at 7:00pm sharp & lasts around an hour and a half, followed by food and fellowship afterwards. We do not close a circle, so you are allowed to arrive late; we simply ask that you join us quietly.
We'd love for you to bring a dish to share in one of our famous potlucks, but no one will be turned away from the table for lack of contribution; you'll find that our spread is always impressive and delicious, and many food sensitivities are regularly taken into account. Also, if you wish, feel free to bring a personal offering for any Ancestor, Nature Spirit, or Deity of your choosing to offer during our Praise Offerings. We welcome you to pray at our good fire!
All are welcomed to join the fun and festivities. No experience in Druidry required! Everyone is encouraged to take part in the merriment.
