Join us in a magical PDX nook, aptly called Gnarnia. The land is nestled in a forrest like zone in SE where you feel like you've left the city.
For this garden workparty we are supporting our friends Touk and Jeevan as they remove their grassy lawn to make space for gardens for their goals of helping people build relationship with land, for habitat diversity, for food education, and for food justice - so a big priority of benefiting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
Our main focus will be sheet mulching: laying down cardboard and broadcasting the mulch. Additionally there is invasive species removal if time allows.
Rain or shine event! Snacks and tools provided. There is not a lot of direct parking in front of the property, but the Leach Botanical Gardens a block away has a parking lot.
