• Getting Started with Bolt (Workshop)

    Are you interested in learning about Bolt or automation and configuration management in general? Puppet is hosting a free beginners Bolt workshop on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 28th! Bolt is an open source, agentless multi-platform automation tool that allows you to get started with infrastructure automation with no agent software or prior Puppet knowledge required. This workshop is a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience from our experienced engineers, so bring a laptop, have lunch on us while learning a new technology, and take away some actual Bolt scripts to start automating your day-to-day tasks straight away. Code is becoming a very popular editor, and the new plugin has some great features. Gene Liverman from the Puppet SRE team will be giving an overview of doing Puppet on Windows.     Hi everyone, The Puppet office will be closed on 7/3, so the July PUG meeting will be held on Monday 7/10. Corey Osman will be talking about the Puppet Debugger, a tool he wrote to help people get instant feedback about what their Puppet code is doing. With the Puppet Debugger you can set breakpoints, inspect variables, run functions, test datatypes, and much more. Corey will walk us through how to setup the debugger and show serval real world scenarios involving everyday problems found in most puppet shops. Corey is a software consultant with a lot of Puppet experience, and he’s one of the organizers of our PUG.
