November Salesforce Developer Group

Great to see the new faces at our October meeting; thank you for joining us as we reviewed Dreamforce and walked through Winter Release!

For our November meeting on Tuesday, November 13th at Centerstance, we will go over the following:

* Telephone chat with Salesforce.com Developer Evangelist Reid Carlberg. His mission is to help you get your work out on the AppExchange.

* Demo of PSA (Professional Services Automation), which has project management elements that we think might be useful to you!

* Have a tricky problem you need to solve? We are confident the great minds in this group may be able to help out informally so bring your troubles!

Also, save the date for December 12th! We will be doing an evening networking event with all the Portland Salesforce User Groups. Details forthcoming as we put this event together.

All, I uploaded Reid Carlberg’s presentation on the AppExchange for Developers to the Files section of MeetUp. To get there, go to the toolbar and click on More, then select Files. Alternatively you can use this shortcut: http://www.meetup.com/Portland-Salesforce-Platform-Developers-Group/files/

Jason, here's the presentation on apex plugins which I mentioned: http://slidesha.re/W5XJyC
It's a way of implementing unpackaged extensions to managed packages.

For anyone interested in getting started with Force.com development, contributing to one of the Force.com Labs open source projects might be a good place to start:

There are a bunch of open source projects from other Salesforce departments and third-party developers on Github as well:

Thank you to all that attended. It was great to meet everyone and I'm looking forward to learning from everyone and sharing ideas.

Regarding performance tuning of Visual Force pages... here is a link to the YouTube video of the session at DF12 "Performance Tuning for Visualforce and Apex": http://bit.ly/RB7XqT.

All - If you have RSVPed and do not plan to attend please cancel your RSVP or post a comment. This will allow others to attend. Thank you

Is the event really full? A little surprised by this if it is. I guess it will have to wait till next time.

Love to attend... and still may, but it's the same day as Seattle Cloudforce Essentials, right?

I'd love to attend, but it conflicts with the VMware User Group meeting. Next time!
